Spider-Man has perhaps one of the most memorable Rogue Galleries out of any superhero, and one of his absolute worst enemies is the serial killer-turned-serial killer with a symbiote suit known as Cletus Kasady, AKA Carnage. The deranged psychopath once shared a cell with Eddie Brock, AKA Venom; when Eddie's symbiote suit came to the rescue, a part of it merged with Kasady, turning him into the even more dangerous Carnage.

Finding gory Carnage comic book moments is easy because almost every single one of his appearances begins or ends with a massacre. But what are the most violent Carnage comic book scenes? The ones that are capable of making you squirm with how disgusting or twisted they are? Below is a list of violent Carnage comics that prove just how dastardly and dangerous this villain truly is.

He Offed His Dog With An Electric Drill

Is there any better way to show that a character is truly horrendous than having him torture an animal? In Venom: Carnage Unleashed, readers get a peak at the childhood of Cletus Kasady and the results... aren't very pretty. In the comic he tells his doctor that his mom loved their dog more than she loved Cletus, so a young Cletus took the dog down into the basement and killed it with an electric drill.

He still fondly remembers how good it felt. If that's not a good indicator that Cletus is beyond any sort of redemption, nothing is.

Carnage Turns His Psychiatrist Into A Cannibal

Marvel Comics have done a great job in presenting Carnage as more of a symbol for all the evil out there in the world than just one crazy nut job. Any attempt to treat him or cure him has always ended in disaster. In Carnage: Mind Bomb, one particularly renowned doctor tries to understand Kasady's mind, but it obviously ends badly. The doctor wants to know how Carnage sees the world, and when the drugs wear off, Carnage fights back.

Instead of just taking out the doctor, Carnage infects his mind with a bit of his own, and the doctor can see how Carnage actually sees the world. It's enough to turn the stoic psychiatrist into a lunatic who tries to eat the guards who come and save him.

Carnage Thinks About Nothing But Gruesome Homicide All Day, Every Day

We've been to some scary places in the Marvel Comic Universe, but none are as truly gruesome than the inner workings of Cletus Kasady's mind. Calling the man a deranged psychopath sounds like a massive understatement. In Carnage: Mind Bomb, a doctor gets Cletus to open up, but the results are predictably horrible. In one section, he talks about how much he enjoys slaying people and how he knows over 9 million ways to end someone's life.

At night, he likes to think up new ways to do so, getting especially excited over the thought of his parents being pushed into a garbage disposal and becoming nothing but bones and guts.

Carnage Infects A Small Rural Town, Chaos Ensues

The best Carnage stories are the ones that aren't afraid to show how twisted and deranged Cletus Kasady really is. One of the best openings to any Carnage story is that of Carnage, USA, when he disrupts a perfectly quiet and peaceful town by showing up unannounced. After Carnage attacks a meat packing plant, we see a man rushing home to check on his family. He tells them to get away from the sink because "it" travels through it.

He then asks where the other children are at and the mom says their son is giving the baby a bath. The man shrieks in terror and rushes upstairs, only to find the baby completely absorbed by the symbiote as his son begs for help. The two children transform into monsters and then take out the father. This type of savagery is exactly why readers both love and hate Carnage.

Carnage Mutilates And Decapitates Different Versions Of Spider-Man In His Mind

In Carnage: It's a Wonderful Life, Dr. Kafka and Security Chief Jameson are transported inside the mind of Carnage after Carnage infects them both with his symbiote. As you can probably guess, it's not a place filled with rainbows and butterflies. One of the first things the pair sees is a room filled with tortured Spider-Men.

They then see a Spider-Man swing in front of them, before he gets horribly decapitated by Carnage. It's brutal and gory and exactly what you would expect from the inner workings of Carnage's mind.

Carnage Slaughters A Diner Full Of People

Whenever Carnage escapes from jail, a trail of bloody bodies follows. The events in Carnage Vs. Deadpool begin with Carnage again breaking out of prison and going on a rampage. His first act is to wipe out a diner full of people; the savagery and gore set the stage for the rest of the comic book. He first drives a spike into a state trooper's head, then proceeds to dismember some men who try to stop him.

After he's done with those guys, he turns his attention to the women and children trapped in the diner. We don't see it, but it's later reported that he claimed dozens of lives.

He Killed His Grandmother By Pushing Her Down The Stairs

In Venom: Carnage Unleashed, Carnage kidnaps his psychiatrist after he breaks out of jail, and continues to talk to her about his past. One of the stories he tells is that of his very first kill when he was just 6 years old. Carnage recounts how his grandma was this fat old lady who smelled bad and how he wanted to end her just because he could. He lured her to the stairs by breaking her precious collection of fragile dolls over the steps; when she got close, Cletus pushed her.

He then explains how he enjoyed hearing her neck snap like a twig; the only thing he was sad about was that he had to wait five hours for his mom to come back so he could eat dinner. Not exactly the healthiest grandmother/grandson relationship.

Carnage Goes On A Homicidal Rampage To Attract Spider-Man And Venom

You just can't help some people, and Carnage is the prime example of that. Every single time a doctor tries to break through to understand what makes Carnage tick in order to eventually cure him, it backfires spectacularly. This is most evident in Maximum Carnage, where, once again, Carnage finds himself free and looking for more people to eliminate. As one doctor begs for her life, she tells Carnage that she can help him and eventually cure him.

Carnage responds by saying that just to prove her wrong, he is going to wipe out every single person at that mental institution. He proceeds to do so in particularly harsh fashion, hoping his pals Spider-Man and Venom will show up to fight him.

Carnage Horrifically Executes A Man Through A Computer Screen

In the miniseries Venom: Carnage Unleashed, Carnage gains a new ability that we hadn't seen him use before. For some odd reason involving molecules and techno-babble, Carnage can send his symbiote through computers and communication lines. One of the most horrific things he does with this newfound ability is slay a man who doubts that he's the real Carnage.

The computer nerd complains that it's all some sort of hologram or illusion, and Carnage responds by sending his symbiote through the inner workings of the internet, out of that guy's screen, and drilling him to death in spectacularly bloody fashion. To top it off, he then wipes out a bunch more computer geeks who laugh at his cheesy special effects.

    Never Trust A Catatonic Carnage

Superior Carnage starts off in a really interesting, brutal way. It shows a day in the life of Ted Connelly, a harmless inmate who was unfortunate enough to be locked up in a maximum security prison with all the deranged psychos. He says how scared he is and how he isn't sure if he is going to survive being in there. He's right. Soon guards bring in a catatonic Carnage and place him in the cell next to Ted. He's supposed to stay locked behind a laser field, but a mind-controlling villain by the name of The Wizard makes a guard unlock him.

Everything else happens really quickly. Carnage awakens from his coma and starts offing everyone in sight, including poor Ted Connelly, who shares his last thoughts before Carnage tears him apart.
