Come 2020, a quick seaplane flight from Panama City will touch you down in the calm aquamarine waters of what will be the Viceroy Bocas Del Toro resort and residences. The 186-room property is set to take full advantage of its prime location on a string of tiny islands lining the country’s Caribbean coast—featuring 42 luxe overwater villas complete with Viceroy’s signature refined decor and requisite private plunge pools. The eco-focused resort (only electric cars and sustainable technologies will be allowed on the property) will also feature eight restaurants running the gamut from fine dining to relaxed beachside grills, a spa tucked into the lush rainforest, and, of course, plenty of outdoor activities that will immerse guests in its pristine surrounds.
